Learning about Islam

Longtime neighbor of the school Mohammad Farouk Islam spoke to the Year 2 class today about the religion of Islam. He shared some stories about growing up in Bangladesh and working in Saudi Arabia before becoming a permanent resident of the United States many years ago. Mohammad talked about the pillars of Islam and explained his view that it is a religion of peace and a guide to living, and not a belief to be forced on everyone. When asked about ISIS, Mohammad said that groups such as that distort Islam and are not what he considers true followers.
