Longtime neighbor of the school Mohammad Farouk Islam spoke to the Year 2 class today about the religion of Islam.  He shared some stories about growing up in Bangladesh and working in Saudi Arabia before becoming a permanent resident of the United States many years ago.  Mohammad talked about the pillars of Islam and explained his view that it is a religion of peace and a guide to living, and not a belief to be forced on everyone.  When asked about ISIS, Mohammad said that groups such as that distort Islam and are not what he considers true followers.  The students were very interested in his presentation and hope to have him back to continue the conversation...
