Conversation with Artist Ernest Shaw, Jr.

We were honored to have famed Baltimore artist, muralist and teacher Ernest Shaw Jr. with us for our “Conversation with…” today. Mr. Shaw’s art is a reflection of African-American life from his home community in West Baltimore through Civil Rights and cultural figures all the way back to West Africa. Many distinctive murals that you see across Baltimore were created and painted by Mr. Shaw. In addition to his personal art, Mr. Shaw has been a teacher of art in the public schools as well.
It was a great conversation and Mr. Shaw is already talking about coming back to continue the conversation and perhaps do a workshop. Thank you for sharing your talent, time and perspective with us.
