Conversation with Dr. Paul Sack

We had a special Conversation with Dr. Paul Sack today. Dr. Sack is the Chief in the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital, the MedStar Regional Director for Endocrinology in Baltimore as well as the Chief of Staff at Union Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Sack spoke about his growing up in Bangladesh where his father was working on treating people with infectious disease, This fueled his desire from an early age to become a doctor. He shared his educational and career journeys including a study abroad in Cote d’Ivoire and graduation from the University of Maryland Medical School. He offered very concrete advice on everything from school-work-life balance to study skills and work habits.
The main reason he was asked to come to the school at this time is because the biology students are studying the endocrine system. The students were prepared with many questions to enhance their understanding.
This is the second time Dr. Sack has generously shared time from his busy schedule with the students. We took a lot away from his time with us and appreciate his kindness.
