Pipeline is the work of acclaimed playwright and actor Dominique Morisseau, who has written numerous plays including Skeleton Crew, Paradise Blue, Detroit ’67, and more. Morisseau received a Tony Award nomination as the book writer on the new Broadway musical Ain’t Too Proud – The Life and Times of the Temptations, and she recently served as Co-Producer on the Showtime series Shameless. Ms. Morisseau development of the play was inspired by Michelle Alexander’s acclaimed book The New Jim Crow, which focuses on the alarming numbers of young African American youth mass incarcerated in the United States, and how that process often begins in the public school system.
