Students Honored at Sponsor Meeting

We had a spirited Sponsor meeting tonight as we wrapped up our first trimester of the school year. It was a night to update families and sponsors about some of the activities and accomplishments of the last 3 months. Most of all, it was a night to celebrate our students and their growth, engagement and successes.
Here are a few statistics that help tell the story of this remarkable group of young people:
Attendance Rate: 99.1% – this is better than many businesses and is at a time when the Baltimore City School System is grappling with an attendance crisis where 50% of their students are chronically absent – missing 10% or more of the school year.
Honor Roll Rate: 64% – this is the highest rate the school has ever had. We have a very demanding and rigorous curriculum and to be on the Honor Roll students must maintain a G.P.A. of at least 90% and not have below 80% in any subject.
43% of the students have an outstanding 4.0 average while balancing college courses with their high school work.
100% of our 10th grade class are passing their first college course this semester.
100% of our 11th grade students are passing two college courses this semester both a philosophy course taught onsite by the University of Baltimore and a English 101 taught onsite by Baltimore City Community College.
33 College Credits – our 11th grade students have 15 credits at the end of this grading period and will graduate with an expected 33 college credits.
We are so proud of our students, thankful for the support of the parents, families and sponsors and grateful for all of those who make this program possible!
